Through its patented ORC technology, Againity can convert waste heat into stable and renewable electricity. This system is modular in design, offering a range of power outputs from 100kWe to 560kWe.
前沿技术赋能ORC系统
Againity places great emphasis on investing in high-quality products, recognizing that any failure in a small component could impact the entire system's performance. ABB is known for its high-quality products and professional technical support, making it an ideal partner for Againity. In fact, almost all components used in Againity's ORC systems are provided by ABB, including low-voltage products, variable speed drives (VSDs), Jokab Pluto safety programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and CP600 control panels with AC500 PLCs.
The application uses two sets of AC500 PLCs: one set handles the module-based upgrades to the turbines and data collection as well as secure cloud connectivity; while the other set controls the ORC generator. Both sets handle approximately 200 signals.
AC500 CPUs need to consider numerous parameters to meet grid specifications and synchronize with the turbine during startup. The turbine employs Modbus TCP as its primary communication protocol for easy data exchange between both CPU units and connection with other essential devices such as ABB VSDs, level switches, etc.
This setup includes ACS380 mechanical drive VSDs for controlling pumps' motor speeds to achieve better flow control throughout processes. Some applications also use ACS880 feedback-type industrial VSD connected to specifically designed ABB motors acting as generators driven by main turbines responsible for power generation purposes; these motors are controlled by responsible turbines generating power. Additionally installed was a CP600 control panel allowing local operation; all devices integrated into existing site SCADA solutions perform most monitoring tasks through this solution.
Both gateways utilize MQTT protocol providing real-time data via proprietary cloud solutions from devices towards them via specific interfaces within gateway units or through network links connecting said gateway units directly or indirectly back toward central server locations within network infrastructure.
